I used to raise Chows and I think they are the most laid back and docile dogs out there. When I would come home from work, my two Chow dogs would raise their eyebrows to see who it was, and not move a muscle.
Chinese Crested puppies are full of energy and are very inquisitive. They have to be everywhere there is anything going on. They also play with each other, even roughly, like so many puppy breads do. They are trying to discover, at this early age, who is going to be top dog, and in control.
Chinese Cresteds love being in your lap too. This doesn’t happen as much when they are puppies, because they are too restless and have to keep moving. Now when they are really tired, they will fall asleep in your lap.
Be sure an have a large dog bed for all of the puppies to snuggle with each other. And have a good supply of chewy dog toys, small ones. They will fight over these, but that is just their way of growing up and being themselves.
One of my favorite things to do is to lay down on the floor and have 5 or six puppies run all over me, licking my face and tugging on my clothes. Chinese Crested dogs are definitely “lickers”.
Please check out our website to see what puppies are now available, or at least coming up.
