Chinese ridge to my right is early (do not worry you know what im making) she had a scan when she was 5weeks and he could see only 3 puppies moving around so that good inside, my question is does this means that how can she or it will however have more in there like my friends dog had a scan with your own and could only see two, but three so if she was out there could give me some good advice would be very grateful, also to say these dogs are healthy and if everything goes well to the family and household good or just keep it as long as it takes to find one. I live in the United Kingdom and even more uncomfortable with the dogs there as my scanner products that did not even went to the vets or anther that was not much, but she wanted to be 100% in dogs also do not think X-rays that make for the dogs in doggie. thanks to all that is answered also the person who answered my question and thought it smart to be rude to me I should not ask this in this here why are you reading that does not respond to questions please if you do not have a good answer

Just because 3 is all they saw, is no guarantee that that’s all she’ll have. Same as it’s no guarantee that she’ll have 3. It’s not a 100% accurate.

Yes it’s very possible that your female might have more than 3 puppies. The scan is not 100%, and it’s hard to tell for sure the actual number.
From the scan, I would just be prepared for 3 puppies. Also, you said you did one at 5weeks? Go again at 8weeks, this will give you a much better estimate on the number of puppies. You can get a xray done.

Ultrasounds (what you meant by “scan”, right?) are excellent for confirming puppies, but not always great for counting puppies.
If you want to be sure, you can have an x-ray done in the week before she is due to count the puppies. Their skeletons will be formed, and they will be easier to count.

Ultrasounds are a wonderful way to confirm pregnancy, however, radiographs (x-rays) are ideal for getting a puppy “head count”.
Once your b*tch is over 45 days pregnant, your vet will accurately be able to do a x-ray to count pups. After 45 days the pups have calcified, so their skeletons will be present in the film.
I wish you luck!

Oh ya, you really know what you are doing — ask your mentor or your vet — not an online forum.

Sound about right, the average litter size for this breed is 2 to 4 pups.
You can take 3 as the gospel. Sounds good!

The scan only gives you an idea of how many are there.. a pup could have been hiding behind another, so its possible she may have one or two more in there.
We find that the best judge is our trusty Vet. With his nimble fingers and years of feeling thousands of dog’s bellies, he has usually been spot-on right.
We have had as few as ONE puppy and as many as 6. An average for us is 3 or 4.
It’s nice to know how many, but it’s also nice just to be surprised.
hi there i think you should wait and see ive been in a dilema as my chinese crested female was unintentionally mated with a chihuahua there was a tie so i have waited to see she is going to the vet on wednesday to check her out? she is definately pregnant and we r concerned as to what the puppies will be like and if they are going to b ok.She is bigger than him so im not concerned about the birth just if the puppies will survive and not b deformed as i have heard the hairless type carry a defective gene?
